Health and Safety Legislation and your fleet

Health and safety at work legislation remain the basis for the fleet manager’s responsibility under the law. The Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act 2007 and the Health & Safety (Offences) Act 2008, have brought these responsibilities into much sharper focus.

Who is included?

  • The self-employed as well as those in employment (ie, contractors working for the organisation);
  • Occasional as well as regular drivers;
  • Drivers using their own vehicles as well as a vehicle owned by the employer – the so-called ‘grey’ fleet
